Fat Burning Diets
To lose weight, you need to think of food as fuel. The body is an engine, so it needs the right fuels at the right times. Although it is convention to eat three meals a day, if you want to lose weight, it is best to eat 5 or 6 smaller meals each day. The reason behind this is that the body can only use so much energy at any one point, so if you eat a big lunch and then don't do any exercise, the body may lay down the excess energy from your lunch as fat.
To avoid turning excess energy into fat, it's best to eat more smaller meals (smaller in energy consumed) during the day and each meal should provide just enough energy to get you from one meal to the next. After a while, the body becomes used to always having food injested so it becomes better at reversing the process of laying down fat, and instead starts to burn the fat off.
Complex carbohydrates are the preferred type of energy source, and can be found in wholemeal bread, wholemeal pasta, oats, brow rice to name a few. The difference with complex carbs versus simple carbs is that the body takes longer to release the enegy from them, so you don't have a sudden spike of energy. With simple carbs, the body digests them very quickly, releasing a lot of energy into the body, which if not used by the body, is turned to fat.
